
Shortly after arriving, she landed a recurring role in the series Blossom, which led to her being cast in Clueless. In 1994, Donovan moved to Los Angeles to pursue film and television work. Some of her theater credits during this time include the Off- Broadway productions The Baby and Mad Love and the Off-Off-Broadway productions Mad Forest, Dark Hours, Chamber Music and Treading the Boards. This led to her first film role in Risk, an independent film loosely based on the play.Īfter graduating from high school, Donovan studied at the prestigious Michael Chechov acting studio and at the Eugene Lang College at the New School for Social Research, where she attended classes in classical and dramatic literature, writing and acting. During high school, she appeared in a play about AIDS called Safe at The Little Theatre in Long Island. She then reprised the role in the television series.īorn in Poughkeepsie, NY and raised in Northport, Long Island, Donovan began acting at the age of 7 and became engrossed with New York theater.
